The majority of the political leaders are inept or corrupt, but they are elected officials. You'd think people would catch on after a while...but no. This is not to mention that a lot of the bad policies have been directly approved by the residents via propositions.

Going on a about 2 years now of warning people of the serious issues that face our nation and the state that I reside in (CA) .. I just come to the conclusion that people don't care unless it impacts them.. And no one will get involved or do anything until things get worse.. Although they are deteriorating at a rapid clip.. No one cares, it still is relatively good.. People will wait to the last dam minute and then panic....Today we got a good view of that from the students protesting.. Where were they when the state's budget was in the dire straights it was .. this isn't new news...

You get funding from X and for a couple of years X is saying its broke...
Yet, you say nothing.. get involved in now way shape or form.. you stick your nose in the air and say.. not us.. we are the future .. they wont touch our funding Then reality hits.. and you freak out and protest like little babies as if that will make a change.. Did you ever say.. hey, this is gonna happen.. let me fight to help the state.. let me rally students to make a change ourselves to make sure our beneficiary is o.k.. Did you shop other schools to see if you can take courses for cheaper elsewhere to reduce the time you need to spend at your university? .. Nothing ..

Just sat there carrying on and then when the expected reality came pimp slapping you in the face.. then you wanna go out and act like clowns ? On the eve of the decision

Are californian's gonna do the same in 2010? Is it gonna be like the L.A riots off in this piece when all the clowns who are making fun of the people warning them finally face reality? If so, let me know.. I want to get a head start.. I will start packing up my sh*t today

SO yeah.. No ones gonna do anything till things get worse .. and fro my observations it will be like a breaking point IMO.. there could have been more gradual outrage where change could have come slowly and constructively but people are stupid like that.. they are gonna wait till things literally are all janked up and then they are going to start acting like morons.

Get your popcorn ready for those who enjoy a show.. Just stay far away from anyone who is all right now... they are gonna be the first ones to go nutz.

Wow, this is the 2nd post in a row of yours that I agree with, Clarks. We're on a roll.

If any Proposition requires the issuance of bonds, there should be an apporopriate tax increase to fund it. No general obligation bonds without tax increases to go along with them.

And, what is your source?

My source (US Dept of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics) states the average salary is far below what you posted.

New York - $65,730
Rhode Island - $62,930
Connecticut - $59,410
New Jersey - $58,650
California - $56,540

Stoooopiiiid Politicians.....
You know what they say...in a representative democracy a people will get the government they deserve. It takes stupid voters to put stupid politicians into office.

Even I agree with Clarks and that's unprecedented!

At issue is categorical spending. Prop. 98, which sends 40% of revenues, not otherwise committed, to education, with scant measurable benefit, is a prime example. The "wise" people of California react (over-react?) to what's trendy or has the money for media full-court presses, and lack the sophistication to look beyond the instant election and see the long-term consequences.

What's worse is that they continue to re-elect the same, sorry people to ostensibly represent them and tolerate family dynasties in the Legislature.

The results are obvious to those who have the ability to open both their eyes and their brains.

Uhhh, actually it shows California isn't anywhere near the top 10 states in per pupil expenditure, and below US average per pupil.

That is why kindergarten teachers live in gated communities and drive Mercedes Benzezezs and shop in Paris.
