Party life in california (San Diego, San Francisco: schools, university, friendly)

Im a college kid from the east coast looking to apply to colleges in areas that have big party environments, and a good music scene, ? any clue on what colleges meet this criteria? i don't have a preference as north or south cali but i guess if i had to choose i would prefer colleges anwhere from southern cali to as high mid cali?

weed is a normality for me, and i love playing and making music, and friendly outgoing people?


yes i know L.A. offers this but its way to expensive anything but L.A.


if you could narrow down an area, or specific place in cali not just generalizing and saying south cali like a specific area would be greatly appreciated.

CSU Chico, UC Santa Barbara, and San Diego State are the states top 3 party schools.

UCSC may suit you.
Good music scene, good pot, friendly, easy going, very liberal county, etc.
San Francisco is less than 2 hours to the north and that's a plus if you need some city once in awhile.
Santa Cruz is expensive but if you're young and don't mind housemates, it's definitely do-able.
What's "high mid cali"?
Santa Cruz is on the most northern part of the Monterey Bay and is considered by most to still be the central coast .... almost Northern California but not quite.
And be prepared to get slammed for referring to California as "Cali".
(i'll do it nicely before anyone else can have a chance to give you grief)
Many people find it to be quite obnoxious especially when it's called that by silly white kids from out of state who assume it's a hip way to refer to California.
