Fat Burger and Five Guys are the same outfit. They changed names right before they built the one here in Beaverton. For 'political correctness'.

OOOOHHHHHH....* I bow down to you in reverence *

COOL. Now everything makes sense. Except the PC part... j/k. 5 Guys doesn't sound like the best alternative, though! Unless they're the burger Mafia hahahaha.

pretty funny!!! I guess though Fatburger is a little Politically incorrect and we do have to be careful now days, right?

In-N-Out fries: if you ask for them really well cooked and eat them right away they are good, otherwise, I agree. it is their weak spot but at least they are freshly cut, daily..

I still think MacDonald's has the best fries, though.

Ok, so being from L.A. I've eaten at In & Out and Fatburger naturally.

I've also eaten at Five Guys here in Chicago a number of times since I moved here.

I'd like to say that Five Guys is nothing like Fatburger. Having frequented The Promenade during my lunch hour for many years, Fatburger has more variety and options.

In & Out is your standard "healthiest of the burger chains". Double doubles are small in comparison to Five Guys, but they have good french fries as well.

Now, Five Guys... I've tried... while the layout of the one I went to (Clark & Fullerton) reminded me of an In & Out (red and white tiles), the food was definitely different. The burgers are big, greasy, and good. You can get grilled onions and grilled mushrooms included in the cost of the burger. Fries are extra, and these are seasoned fries and plenty. A small is comparable to a large size McDonalds fries. They also have cajun style which gives it an extra kick. Also, you get free peanuts.

They're definitely two different establishments with different offerings out here. FatBurger has it's own distinct taste, and Five Guys has theirs. Maybe it's different elsewhere.

I haven't had one in a long time but i always liked the cheese burgers at Weinersneitzel. They had a good taste to them. & some chili cheese fries. I liked the Polish sausage sammitch too & mustard dogs.

My favorite is the Habit, although they aren't as big a chain as In&Out. I will look for the new chain, although at this stage in my life it is just a treat and not a main food source.

Interesting.

It was either the contractor or restaurant owner who told our Permits Tech about Fatburger changing its name to Five Guys. And the original building permit application had Fatburger on it.
