I can also go weeks without saying "eh" so when I drop one everybody at work just goes, "Oh yeah.."
Those are the only ways I can pick up on a Canadian. Makes sense. Other than those few things, the accent is practically indistinguishable. People in other parts of the US often immediately recognize Californians as soon as we open our mouths from what I'm told.

There's been plenty of SoCal examples in this thread. Norcal, like I said, Robbin Williams although he apparently wasn't born here. he has the accent.

The Southern Californian accent continues to change - moving away from the "surfer"/"valley" accent towards non-rhoticity.

Did anyone hear the kid interviewed whose mom owned the cabin where Dorner apparently met his end? I assume he's a native as he sounded a lot like some of my younger relatives but somewhat different than I do. His speech was more clipped and not as run-together as folks my age. I'm guessing that's what the SoCal accent (at least in the inland) has evolved to over the past couple of decades. It's actually one I've been hearing lately amongst younger people in other parts of the West including Nevada, Colorado, and Idaho.

Spencer Pratt sounds like someone from So Cal. He got the whole surfer-douchebag thing going on.
