The governor cannot refuse to limit benefits to illegal aliens and their anchor babies. Proposition 187 was voted into law by the voters a few years back, but was overturned as a few judges found it "unconstitutional". The goveror TRIED to cut spending on certain programs, but those agencies filed expensive lawsuits, FORCING the government to keep these services. Bottom line is, no one wanted to be the one on the budget chopping block, and instead of acquiesting, they would rather drag down our state with them.

I am opposed to any more taxes. I pay so much already that I can not really even pay my bills as it is. My pay has not increased in almost 3 years. My cost of living, health insurance, taxes and fees have. There is only so much we taxpayers can shoulder before we leave the State.

Have you ever wondered why our State budgets have been so late? In the last few years, the July 1st budget doesn't get approved until October? The Governor has TRIED to cut spending, but our State legislature and special interest groups had to squabble over cuts for MONTHS. Our State legislature is akin to a spoiled trophy wife who has lost her credit cards and can't go spend and spend. California legislators want to spend like they are Hollywood stars on a beer budget. It doesn't work that way. I think the Governator did what he could, but was stymied.

California has a coin operated Legislature owned by labor unions (Democrats) and business interests (Republicans). It is further deterred by gross partisanship, a total lack of statesmanship, political correctness of the first order, nepotism and no real desire to do what's right for the people, only what's experient for the members.

I worked WITH, not for, those bozos for almost 20 years and finally retired earlier than planned because my gorge level became almost unbearable.

None of the five Governors I served the state under were much better and I don't doubt that Californians will recycle the first of them.!

The public unions own the legislature big time. I dont see any improvements in ca except increased taxes & dmv fees. The unions are greedy rats.
