AB 32 came to light when I received my PG&E’s request for a rate increase with my bill. (see thread PG&E wants to raise the rates of CA customers! //www.city-data.com/forum/calif...-rates-ca.html )

Assembly Bill 32 is going to do more damage to California’s economy. How do we get it repealed?

I called my Assemblyman and told him that I was angry about my PG&E bill going up and that I would like AB 32 repealed.

I was told that attempts to repeal or reduce the damages to Californians caused by AB 32 have been repeatedly shot down but I was also told that we need to keep calling our Assemblymen and letting them know how AB 32 is hurting us and the state.

Isn't there anything more we can do?

Stop voting for the most liberal candidate at every level.

Haha I actually had a good chuckle to that one.

Unfortunately I think too many people have no idea what they are doing to society in relation to who they vote for. A lot of people don't have common sense either. I can't see much changing.

Not to be negative, but no there's nothing you can do. As long as the state districts are gerrymandered as they are.

For example, Fran Pavley could care less if you and probably most of her constituents could afford their electric bill. Vote her out then? Well if you look at what the boundaries of her district are and what percentage Republican / Independents are (http://www.sen.ca.gov/ftp/SEN/senplan/SD23.HTM - broken link), the chances of her getting thrown out are slim to none as long as she does not offend her party bosses.

Repeat this for the majority of CA, and you will see that the Democrats have a permanent lock on the majority of the CA legislative body. It certainly doesn't help when the Republican party in CA acquiesces to their minority status and does nothing either.

There have been too many Leftist extremist transplants from other states, as well as, too many kids indoctrinated by the government schools to think in a certain way. All hope is lost. The rubicon was crossed years ago. It won't be repealed, and even worse scraps of paper will be issued in the coming years.

AB32 goes into effect in 2012. If the utility companies are charging you now for AB32 then they are outright stealing from you.

You could get a petition and then collect enough signatures to put a proposition on the ballot box to repeal AB 32.

Didn't that get voted down last year?

We don't. We shouldn't. It will not hurt the economy. Stop posting propaganda.
