The local High Schools have been adding parking... not too long ago, kids could carpool to school... now everyone has to drive separate because of teen driving restrictions

I can't believe how easy and cheap it is to park in L.A. compared to Chicago. Chicago is a nightmare. Wonder if this clown politician is going to change that? Hope not.

The "free" parking at your employer's, supermarket, mall or curb in front of your house isn't free. Someone is paying for it: the customer at the store, the employer, the property owner...or the taxpayer. All this calls for is a pay-as-you-go model.

So you'd rather pay $6 to park at the grocery store every week than have the cost of the lot factored into the prices. This is about punishing people who drive cars. Nothing more. How does charging someone to park in front of their own house, on a street their taxes already pay for, improve anyone's quality of life?

Thank you for saying this. "Free parking" is actually a subsidy for automobile ownership.
Now, don't get me wrong, I hate paying for parking as much as the next guy.
But what I hate even more is being FORCED to own a car because of sh*tty public transportation and sprawl oriented land use policies that prevail in most US cities.
