Actually, he has not left yet, but just when we thought that the San Francisco mayor might be taking a break from politics, he is going to announce that he is running for lieutenant governor. Perhaps he considered the states top job too tough to reach for, plus his poll numbers for a run for governor were low, so a run for the LG slot is in the offing.

Newsom is useless so a useless job like LG should suit him just fine.

Newsome is just looking for a paycheck and a position that will let him inject himself into the public concious on his terms for the next few years. He needss 4-8 years to sit back and let the memories of his SF scandals & missteps fade so he can run for governor or senator someday.

No, it's not. Yes, he does.

Gavin entering caused Dean Florez to decide to drop out out of the race for LtGuv. Dean Florez has been fundraising for the race for over a year.

Florez is termed out of the State Senate so I wonder where he will pop up next.

Or which of his relatives! He has a plan. You can be sure of that. They just won't go away.

Yep, I keep waiting to see what his mother runs for next.

At least Dean can hopefully quit (at least for now) introducing some of the legislation he has introduced to garner statewide publicity like the 1 cent per teaspoon of sugar beverage tax.

Hey maybe Dean can go back to school at UCLA again and try to get reelected a second time as UCLA's student body president.

Newsome, the Spam (food) of the SF political world. He looks like a sleezy, superfically-presentable cheap used-car salesman from some trashy area of LA.

His continued presence in the politics in this state is yet another reason to leave it. Any state that would have him as a member is not one suited for me.

I'd like to see him disappear.
