I may be taking a job near bakersfield soon, Can anyone give me information on the good areas?? Where should I look and where should I avoid... I am almost 4o something, no small kids...I am looking for "city living" not to rural

this town is rural. It is agriculture, oilfields and this is why most of it is away from people, those things take space to do. there are good things and bad things to this city.

by the way..as for US ( me, wife and a golden retriever) it's no longer Maybe Bakersfield.. it's Definitely Bakersfield.
got the contract by FedEx last week. gave it a week to think it over.
then sent the signed contract to the company.

Now since the company is re-imbursing the moving expenses, we're actually tempted to drive.. yup you got that right!
drive from Rhode Island to California.. both of us have never done it before..

and i think it's more than an adventure but an excuse to SEE and experience the other parts of our country.
