Prop 187 never made it to the Supreme Court. It was struck down by a single judge in LA and then quietly buried by Gray Davis.

Do you think California will officially boycott Arizona?
No. Not California and not any other state. Maybe some extreme moonbat locales like SF or heavily hispanic areas like Los Angeless will pass something with teeth, but, statewide, numbers are not on their side.

Opponents of the Arizona law are very vocal, but, in most states, they are in the minority. I saw a poll that showed that 70% of people nationwide approved of the law.

In California, opponents might be in the majority, but many opponents are noncitizens and therefore not allowed to vote. Hispanics are something like 38% of the population, but only 17% or 18% of registered voters.

Who would care what California does? Especially what San Francisco does, who would care. To many people in the U.S., California is the cesspool of the United States. Before they attempt to fix a superior state, they need to fix their own. I could go on, but the moderators would be unhappy with my thoughts of California and the people who in habit such a place. Gee, new thought, we are talking about the home of Nancy Pelosi, why are we not surprised?

How about actually stepping up to try and fix the problem, Governator?
Excellent post! You're not alone, millions think the same way you do. Instead of fixing their problems, California just raises it's sales tax.

I think you are correct and that prop 187 was overturned by a lower California court & not the California supreme court or U.S supreme court.

I think that unless a court strikes down the Arizona law that there will be boycotts of Arizona and they won't just be from California. There were anti-Arizona demonstrations in Chicago today. If states put pressure on companies to not do business in Arizona than it will most definitely hurt Arizona during a time that it cannot afford to lose any business.

I believe 70% of Arizona residents approve of the anti-immigrate law. I don't know if a national poll has been taken.

38% may be a bit high. Here's the data I found:
According to the 2008 ACS Estimates,[6] California's population is:

I find it especially ironic when California is looked down upon by residents of states whose economies are heavily supported by taxes Californians pay into the federal budget. Which is basically all red states, from Alaska to Arkansas. But I digress.

If the law works out, meaning crime goes down and the place returns to normal, AZ could be a kickas-ss state. It's now on my vacation radar, etc..

California boycott Arizona? California should follow Arizona's lead and the other states should get in line behind them.
