The cost of living is very high. You have to be making a decent income to live in a nice area.

Don't eat Chris's Hot Dogs in downtown Montgomery. That place is gross.

I actually went Chris's Hot Dogs in Montgomery with my daughter's science competition last summer. Open trash cans in the dining area, flies, mops laying around in view of the patrons eating. And this is in a nice part of downtown Montgomery where bankers and lawyers would go for lunch.

Yeah, the OP's title leaves one empty:"Information on southern or California" he may wait for any emails.

I haven't been to the Pantry in 15 or 20 years - and I remember it looking like it hadn't changed since the 1950s. But, everyone should visit that place at least once.

Surprisingly the Pantry has a good web page. I enjoy reading the factoids (which I can't seem to find online anymore).

The ORIGINAL Pantry Cafe
The Pantry may have character & history but the first time I ate there they served my hamburger on sliced white bread!

That's almost like serving a Chicago-style hot dog with ketchup.
