The two-tone gray and white Nest might not look like the rest of the Airstream lineup, but inside, it's the same comfy, well-appointed space you've come to expect from the company that fused retro-chic with high-end trailers. During my time with the Nest, I took two short trips.

At double or triple the cost of a regular trailer of the same size.

Simply cannot warrant the price, no matter how well the trailer may be built.

I love Airstreams. That said, affording a new Nest is way out of my reach. I'd need to win the lottery.

What is within my reach is the 2001 cargo van I bought last year. I love it, too. And I feel perfectly free to copy any appealing ideas from Airstream.

I would much prefer an Escape or Casita trailer for a fraction of the price. We have owned 2 Casitas and I see nothing in the Nest that is as convenient or justifies the price.
