replacement digi vs analog box for tv (RV, places)

What have you all done for mounting a digi box to replace the analog feed? The previous owner did a Frankenhack on this. He wired the internal outlet from the wall to the antennae. Yes, it is just hanging on the inside. Is something like this what RV places install (ak fix)? Anyone use an internal antennae instead and just bypass the external wind up one?

It's pretty darn ugly and I am not even sure if the cable hook up works until I get a chance to hook it up.
