And even in a highly-urbanized central-eastern province like Ontario, there is much opposition to gun control outside the major cities, especially in the northern part of the province and even in rural areas in the south.
So it would be more accurate to say that across the country most urban Canadians favour gun control, and most rural Canadians oppose it.
The one exception to this rule is Quebec, where support for gun control is generally high in both urban and rural areas.

I think you're right, to a certain extent. I think though, that urban westerners are still more likely to oppose gun control than their eastern counterparts.
The last poll I saw about the long gun registry, for example, showed 64% of Albertans supported abolishing it, while 42% of Ontarioans did, even though the population in both is roughly 80% urban.
As for concealed carry, I don't think you'd find a majority in support of it on the prairies, though the number in favour would certainly be higher than in Eastern Canada.
