Calgary certainly has it's ups and downs, but this winter it has been up! +15 this week... we've had one chinook after another. Loving it, but not blind to the fact that its January and we expect winter to kick in at some point.

According to this website: Warmest Canadian Cities in Winter - Current Results

The warmest cities in Canada after the BC coast are, Interior BC in Kelowna and Abbotford, Then Southern Ontario at St. Catherines, Niagara Falls and Windsor, etc., Then finally the eastern coast in St. Johns and Nova Scotia, etc. After that it would be Quebec and then most likely Calgary followed by the rest of the prairies in terms of the warmest cities in Canada.

Yeah, which is part of why we didn't let them in. There's only like 20 thousand of them though, and I'm sure all of the Canadians moving there would provide construction and service industry jobs, and some of them would end up in the provinces looking for jobs. But the real concern is just how far they were from everything, access would have been expensive.

Very funny. I notice you did not mention which St. John's you were talking about. Saint John's, Antigua and Barbuda I assume

One thing everyone is forgetting is that there is a helluva lot more to life than climate. I spent years looking for "perfect climates" studying stats from many places, and in the end, after 7 years in a "perfect climate" I am fed up with the pollution, allergens, criminal violence, xenophobia and yes, the lack of changing seasons - and St. Catharines (where I also lived) with its moderate, even pleasant, winter, is about where I want to be. Be careful what you wish for!
