Does it difficult to get a driver's license in Canada?

Guess it depends where you go and how well you can drive..
Here in Quebec you have to take a government approved drivers education program i believe its a 60 hour course thats split between classroom and actual driving once completed you can take your driving test, which puts you on probation for 1 year if you pass.
The course can run about $500
I forget what the cost to take the test is but budget $100.
and maybe another $50 if you have to rent a car to take the test in.
