We're Taking Amtrak From Albany New York To Niagara Falls Canada. How Far Could Someone Guess The Niagara Falls Station Is To Where The Hotels Are By The Falls? Since We Won't Have A Car We're Trying To Figure Out As How To Get From The Amtrak Station To A Hotel. Also Help On Picking Out A Hotel To Stay Is Our Next Dilema. We Want To Be Near The Falls But Stay Within A Budget. We Also Want To Be Able To Be Near All The Attractions So We Can Walk To Them. Any Insight Would Be Helpful. Thanks! We're Hoping That It Just Doesn't Rain Too Much Since We'll Be Footing It!!!!!!
We're Looking To Stay At The Country Inns And Suites In Niagara. Wondering If Anyone Call Tell Me If It's Within Walking Distance To The Falls. We Have Younger Children And Are Wondering If We Could Walk From The Hotel To The Falls.

The Canadian side of Niagra falls is, well, um, a bit sleezy shall we say.
Since you're bringing family I would suggest you be carefull what hotel you stay at and maybe inspect the room before putting down any cash to make sure there aren't mirrors on the ceiling or vibrating beds in the room.
I'm not kidding here. Think a really low budget, off strip version of Vegas here.
Chains like Marriot, Delta Chelsea, and Best Western will be surprised to find their managers have installed all those wonderful devices described by EVH.

Could Someone Reccommend The Brock Plaza Hotel Or The Oakes Overlooking The Falls For A Family Stay In Niagara. Not Sure Which One To Stay At. The Whole Family Is Going And We Want To Stay At A Decent Place. Thanks For The Help.
Both are very decent hotels with views of the Falls and the Niagara River.
The Oakes is located almost even with the Horseshoe Falls, but is up the Escarpment (hill) and perhaps a quarter mile from the actual edge of the Falls.
The Brock is located just across the street from the Niagara River, but you'll have a flat, half mile walk to get to the edge of the Falls. The Brock is also closer to the tourist trap happenings on Clifton Hill.
You will have a good time on Lundy's Lane. There are so many things to see and do. A long strip with shops and much more. You will love it.
There are also wine tours in Niagara, which are great.
Don't miss the Skylon Tower.

Some of the best hotels around are in Niagara Falls Ontario.
i totally agree with steve1873...the canadian side of the falls is beautiful and an excellent vacation spot for a family....the wolf lodge is indeed it's own vacation resort but can be expensive. i would suggest you go to mapquest and search from point a to point b then you will have an idea of how much walking you'll be doing. enjoy, it's a magnificent sight!
EVH hasn't been to the Falls in quite a while - probably years. The area around the Falls is full of high-end hotels and lots of family entertainment and restaurants. If you're without a car the People Mover System will take you to all attractions. For kids there's Marineland, the Waterpark above the Hershey Store, the Tropical Bird Aviary, Clifton Hill with all its tourist amenities and wax museums. For restaurants there's the Rain Forest Cafe and Planet Hollywood, among many others. Almost everything is within walking distance or the PMS will get you there. You can even walk across the border to the U.S. side to get a new perspective - but don't go far - that's the seedy side.
