I'm left of centre on some issues, right of centre on others. A few years ago, I would have voted Conservative, but Harper's way of governing is a turn off so I will likely vote for someone else. I know there are others like me, but I wonder how prevalent it is.

I believe most of their newfound popularity is coming from Quebec so when the dust settles jacko will be mightily beholding to Quebec so Quebec tells him to jump he will have to say how high? on the way up.

Actually it's not just QC... although they are providing a good bit of help.

The NDP is nearly up in the Atlantic provinces, is nearly tied with the Tories in SK/MB, has gone up to 19% support in AB (Cons are down to around 51-53!), and are beginning to inch into first in BC.

Libs are down everywhere but Ontario, where the NDP is still struggling a bit, but rising.

I predict the Lib's will flounder even further as they'll likely second into Iggy's spot that ship-jumper Bob Rae, ex NDP premiere of Ontario who screwed things up so badly they haven't seen a ray of hope till now. I give Jacko credit for bringing them back from near obscurity.

Pun intended?

And yet we are only in a deficit because a "conservative" government decided to bail out banks while cuttign arts programs.

Conservative on what? how much money they decide they should spend on their haircuts, and tuxs. Not much else

In this latest recession, I don't recall the government bailing out any banks on this (the Canadian) side of the border. If I'm mistaken, please give me at least one example.

What is it with you people and this arts funding? It gets really old after a very short period of time.

I think it's very prevalent. If I had to guess, I would say there are a few million just like you.
