can't blame that on FOX can you...oh don't forget the ADSCAM!
That's why I said hypothetical. A significant portion of Canadian electorate outside of Quebec appears to have veered to the right lately. I don't actually think that this is related in any meaningful way to Fox News, and whether or not it is related to certain influences from the U.S. is unclear.

Anti-teacher's unions yes, anti-education? Prove it! Moderator: snip

In my city (Boston), 85% of the educational budget of the city goes to teacher salary and benefits. That leaves 15% for physical plant and supplies. Then we have teachers moaning about having to purchase supplies for their class. Can you recognize the irony?

The education system in this country is a disaster and has nothing whatsoever to do with Republican policies.

So, we have a few problems with the right in the USA that is germain to this entire discussion about Fox.

Do you have evidence of the entire GOP's lack of intellect?

We know our foreign policies have been nothing but one huge unmitigated disaster since WW2
Do you mean like Korea, where almost 40,000 young American men lost their lives and where 60 years later we still have soldiers in harm's way? Or maybe you meant Viet Nam where 2.5 million Americans spent their youth with almost 60,000 of them never coming home? Nah, you couldn't have meant those two foreign policy blunders because both were started and escalated by the American Democratic Party. Moderator: snip

I actually read an article about that incident shortly after it happened. Extremely insensitive and ignorant! How they can possibly call themselves "fair and balanced" is beyond me.

Yes because people like Fareed Zakaria, Anderson Cooper, Solidad O'Brien, Charlie Rose, etc...are so terrible at their jobs.

Name one Canadian Journalist/Broadcaster that understands foreign policy better than Fareed Zakaria. Please do not allow a terrible station like Fox News cloud your judgement, you end up sounding just as ignorant as them.

How can a nation possibly decide that they are going to take a break from a war?

When no one attacks that nation, and the only reason it goes to war is to try to help out allies who then fail to respect its contributions? In short, when it is at war not because it must be, but because it chooses?

I'm not gonna apologize for them, because they don't speak for me (the OP should take this wisdom) but I will say I'd rather take the Canadian military approach and have a minimalist military pre-Harper. This is one of the things that disgust me about mainstream conservatives down here, that we, somehow, need to maintain an overwhelming military force. Who's going to invade us, really? Occupying and annexing territories is a thing of the past. Nobody does that anymore, the name of the game is economic warfare, not military. The U.S. is still stuck in the Cold War mentality

Are you saying Canada decided to take a breather because it didn't feel appreciated? Lol!!!!

Show me evidence that anyone failed to respect it's contributions.
