Just to clarify, Banff is only 45 mins from Calgary. Not a long drive.
But, if you only have 4 days, I agree with the other posts, pick one place and see it well. My pick would be Vancouver or Quebec City. If you had more time, you could fly to Calgary, rent a car & drive to Vancouver. Unbelievably beautiful drive, and you could stop at Banff on the way.

It is 141 km from the Calgary Airport to Banff. If you only have two-four days, + a long flight, that is a long drive

Thanks Sunshineleith, I guess KM's don't lie, but in all honesty I have driven that drive 100+ times and going the speed limit, it really comes in around 45 mins, even from the airport. : ) I agree though, after a long flight, no one feels like driving!

Niagara on the lake and/or Kingston/1000 islands in Ontario.
Well the 1000 island cruises only start in May, so it would be better to go there later. In Quebec City there's a good chance that winter won't be over yet by end of March/early April, and that there will be snow, but the city can still be nice in the winter and at least it won't be too cold anymore. Plus you can do some skiing (in Banff too).
Banff in March is kind of an odd time as the skiing season is almost over and the summer season hasnt started, all walking trails are going to be muddy plus after you've gone to all the souvenir shops there not really much to do in Banff, From the south east? Toronto,Montreal or Quebec City would be your best bet..
Personally if i only had 2-4 days i'd go to Manhattan ...
