I know Ontario and BC are quite different and all but I think it would be interesting to identify 'sister cities' between the two provinces, since they are the two most dominant English-speaking Canadian provinces.
I've lived in both provinces, I'll give it a shot:
Nanaimo - Kingston
Chilliwack - Barrie
Mission - ?
Prince George - Probably one of the northern cities, Sudbury, North Bay etc.
Kelowna - Burlington.
Surrey - Mississauga or Brampton

Would you say Mission is anything like Orangeville?

I would say Cambridge or Brantford is more appropriate now that I think about it. Old downtown on a river, blue collar roots etc.
Also geographically Barrie reminds me alot of Prince George - however Barrie feels much more prosperous and feels like an extension of the GTA in many ways - whereas PG is more of a one economy northern city.

Oh yeah I can see that. Barrie isn't even close to being as remote as Prince George but culturally it seems quite a bit like the British Columbia interior.
