Are there any groups that play American-style country music en francais?

Their might be a few but it's not generally a music genre Quebeckers listen to. Quebec's traditional folk music sounds pretty different from Country. This is the closest I can remember hearing, by a band that mostly plays Indie:

Les Trois Accords, Saskatchewan - YouTube

It's like this weird subculture. There aren't to my knowledge any real country radio stations in Quebec but there is this entire industry that still exists.

Here are some of the more well-known songs:

Willie Lamothe - thème du Ranch à Willie (Dans mon beau pays) - YouTube

stef carse:Achy Breaky Dance (full song) - YouTube

Gildor Roy - Une autre chambre d'hôtel - YouTube

OK, any bets on what the next question from MOS will be?

My guess is whether Quebec/French Canada has its own pornographic film industry.

The answer, of course, is yes.

Well, I am not that knowledgeable but I do know that it certainly exists as an industry.

For example, there is an X-rated parody of this highly-popular comedy series:

La petite vie - Les Bloopers - YouTube

La petite vie (The Little Life or A Simple Life - loosely translated) is the highest rated Quebec TV series of all time.

The X-rated version was called "La p'tite vite" which is slang for "The Quickie".

Hey, I can see you are actually paying attention and taking the time to listen to them!

A few of these are translations, but there are many original country songs in French also.

For the song you mentioned, I had heard there was an English original but I had no idea of the title and who sang it, nor have I ever heard it. I suppose most people in Quebec who would know the French version by Renée Martel probably don't know any of this either.

On another front, not too long ago I was in Germany at a summer festival and I heard this song:

Jürgen Drews - Ein Bett im Kornfeld 1976 & 1998 - YouTube

EDIT: Just thinking, there is a French version for this one too!

Patrick Normand -C'est la saison - YouTube
