Your location says "NW Toronto"? Where exactly - North York, NW Etobicoke, NW GTA (aka Brampton)?
Frankly, nowhere in NW area in the City of Toronto would be my cup of tea either. The people are much more pleasant and hospitable and community oriented on the outer fringes of the city. Places like Ancaster, Burlington, Oakville, Aurora etc would have alot more appeal to somebody like yourself than living in the 416.

Erm ..... Actually I do say "butter" The longer I am over here, the more British I become!
Oh yeah, and it's not that far from Toronto - you could come visit it sometimes. There are at least four roundabouts that you can try as well. There is even a website trying to educate the Canadians on how to use them properly :-)

There is a roundabout on Niagara Parkway near the Floral Clock. They are also going to build one on Mountain Road in Niagara Falls. Ontario has finally seen the wisdom of the roundabout.
Maryland has a lot of roundabouts now. They call them traffic circles in the U.S.

Interesting how there seems to be an increasingly vocal crowd of online bloggers and posters on boards such as this with people totally disillusioned with life here, though I think the overwhelming majority are people that live in the Toronto area.
I hated it too.. till I moved to Bowmanville. Now I see the REAL Canada, and I love it. F**k Toronto and most of its suburbs (excluding some in the Eastern GTA). You couldn't pay me enough to move back.
