It's a pretty common part of the vernacular where I am, even moreso in Alberta. Want to read some interesting history about the origin of y'all? ...........

So if we take this evidence seriously, it looks like “y’all” followed a unique path: A phrase in the Scots language was brought to the American South by Scots-Irish immigrants primarily from Northern Ireland. The word filtered down to slaves and their descendants, and became a feature of African American Vernacular English. African Americans moved to the Northern cities and brought this word with them.
Lots of "y'all" in Windsor too. Makes sense now reading that clip there about African Americans moving north. Windsor was a major player in the underground railway network, and many settled here. Plus, there's Detroit right across the river. Our two cities grew up together.
