I wonder if some Canadians know "The Star-Spangled Banner" (just the first verse, as that is all most Americans know)? I will stipulate that if any of them do, it would be a far greater number than that of Americans who know "O Canada"!

I was a big sports fan in my youth so I know the part sung before games by heart from A to Z.

It's funny but I have met quite a few American hockey fans who know O Canada by heart. These would likely be just about the only ones.

Yes, I know the Star Spangled banner in entirety and O Canada in both French & English.

I'd recognized it, but don't know the words.

I can't help but know it. My dad was a hockey fan and so is hubby. Hard to ignore the blaring TV.

F'n hate the Star-Spangled Banner..... America the Beautiful or I'm proud to be an American should be the national anthem, the rest of the countries in the American continent will probably have a hissy fit but whatever us United Staters are used to listening to people complain about us.

I love "America the beautiful". It would be fitting for the country. I know all the words to Star Spangled Banner, well, not the whole thing, just the part that's always sung at hockey.

Sure it is. Your country is just "The United States", of America.

I know "The Star Spangled Banner," but then I am a sports fan; and have heard it many times before sports events on TV. After so much TV sports, I'd be surprised if I did not know it!
