He's baaaack! The Energizer Bunny of obfuscation is here again.
??? I never left. And what have I said that's obfuscating? My point is simple to understand: Because the US is at the center of global attention, there's more coverage of US crime, which results in an over exaggerated view of America.

Of course more coverage equals an "over-exaggeration" if it casts the U.S. in a less than flattering light. Especially when that less than flattering coverage is predominantly from the U.S. media.

Obviously, it's over exaggeration in both ways, however the international community resents the US for its power and global popularity, therefore the positive is ignored and the negative is culturally promoted.
The US is an open society, more open than most. Our media covers everything the good and bad. The international media focuses only on our bad. For example it always looks like the BBC does more docs on problems in the US than in the UK or any other country. Not to mention the fact that our positive stories about American accomplishments are considered arrogant by the international community.

And now the master of obfuscation moves on to completely hyjack the thread with a whine about how the U.S. is just unfairly misunderstood by the worlds press, including their own.

Umm... How am I hijacking if this has been my point from the start?? You have no argument, you have no point, you have no sources, you have nothing. You're just desperately grasping at straws and searching for some angle to use against me for reasons no one knows.

The question was whether Canadians feel safe crossing the border not whether you feel they are justified in their reasons why they might feel unsafe crossing the border.

We made the arguments, we made the points, we furnished the sources and you ignored all then moved the goal posts with 'it's the unfair attention given the U.S. by all the worlds press including your own.'
Okie dokie, what's next?
Any more input on whether Canadians feel safe when visiting the U.S.?
