We have lots of blooming trees in Toronto, especially Japanese Cherry and Crabapple. I have a crabapple in my backyard and it is just starting to bloom - late spring this year. Problem with these trees is that the blossoms are gone so soon. They're nice while they last, but I prefer the shade of the enormous green canopy Toronto has, courtesy of Oaks and Maples mostly. Not many large, dense cities in North America have a tree canopy like Toronto's.
We have plenty of flowering cherry and crabapple trees in Quebec. My favorites this time of year are the magnolias, which are a relatively new phenomenon. They seem to be thriving now that it's warmer.
Absolutely stunning!
