Now, I'll conclude by telling you that the original conversation we were
having was totally appropriate for this thread and forum, but what you're
starting to do now is not. You ought to bring a thread to the Atheism or
Religion forum and debate atheism there
if you want to do that
They'll clean his clock over there, so he won't do it. Perhaps he thought that these polite Canadians would make a good bullseye when he himself created the thread and he himself asked the question.
After seeing what depths he has sunk to, threatening people who don't share his superstitions, I will not be answering any more of his questions.

That didn't sound like a very Christian thing to say!

Wow, way to play right into a stereotype. This is exactly why I try to avoid having this conversation with people of faith. It just leads to frustration, with someone pulling out the "dumb bully" routine, i.e. "I don't have the ability to express a compelling opposing argument, so let me just beat you with my fists." Useless.

In the interest of fairness, I believe that a lot of people who ''left'' religion did so because they felt the institutions were intolerant and disrespectful of human differences. These same people would be wise not to be guilty of the same thing themselves but simply on the flipside of the coin.

Why do you think God has sentience? I think that's kind of a catch-all for religions. People say that a computer was created by an intelligent mind, so a bird, which is more complicated, must have been created by an intelligent mind too...

...unless unintelligent universal mechanics created the people who created the computer, in which case both the bird and the computer were created by unintelligent universal mechanics.

Nobody has proven abiogenesis wrong yet, and even if it is wrong, there's still the possibility of Panspermia Theory regarding how life began, and perhaps other possibilities.

We don't even know what occurrences create sentience, and much of the world assumes a being who created all that is has sentience. Why is it even necessary for a being that created all that is to have sentience?

Show that deism is likely, and then maybe we can begin talking about more specific religions being true. Until then though, I cannot comprehend the mentality of anyone who does not at least have a grudging respect for the thought processes of at least some of the more complex-thinking atheists (even while
disagreeing with them)

Up here in St. Louis County we don't harass one another. I'm an atheist and I will (ideally) be dating a southern Baptist soon. I would never try to change her beliefs, unless she instigates the discussion. Stop threatening people and maybe they'll hate you less.

Why the hell would I want to go down to Mississippi? If the people are anything like you, juvenile, hostile, ignorant and violent, I'll avoid it at all costs.
"Welshschmaltz and Pappacrappa?" Seriously? Does that pass for humour in your backwater state?

He probably means he'll shoot you, it seems like a very Christian American thing to do.

Ya think? And then they wonder why we don't join their little club. He'd rather hit me over the head with one. Maybe Jesus loves me, but this guy sure doesn't.

Oh, fer gods sakes Schmo !! You really blew it this time.

Why should anyone give any serious consideration to answering any of your questions again after a display of temper tantrum and ignorant threats like that?

You've been a rude boy again. You better run off to your priest and make a confession now.

If you know what's good for you then don't go asking atheists why they are atheists and then expect them to sugar-coat their answers to you about what they think of your superstitions. Better yet, if you know what's good for you then don't ask them that question at all.
