how difficult is it to get a temporary work permit (and a job, as a foreigner) in canada ? i'm from the UK, i have no intentions of staying there for any longer than 12 months. i have no commitments and just want to travel abroad and take in a new experience, without hurting myself too much in the pocket by staying unemployed. accommodation and adapting is not really an issue since i have close relatives living there. thanks.

yeh, i've been on there. it doesn't tell much of past or present experiences of people that have actually done it or are half way through the process.

It is actually very easy if you are a British Citizen. It is called a "Working Holiday".

Eligibility Criteria for the Working Holiday Category
The Working Holiday category is designed for citizens of the United Kingdom, who intend to travel in Canada and who wish to find temporary paid employment to help pay for their stay(maximum 12 months).
