I am a dual citizen and am spending more time in Canada, Ontario for work and personal. I have a BA from a US Uni what are some of the good universities I should look into?

I have hears McGill is the Ivy League for Canada correct?

My boss mentioned Waterloo is tech mecca SV of CA?

My boss went to Queens in Kingston and liked it but never finished, family issues.

U of T gets a very good mention.

I am looking at getting a possibly getting a Masters in IT as I love tech, and have been selling tech and doing IT support, so Waterloo seems to make sense?

I appreciate your constructive feedback.

Lastly, do all or any offer online education since I travel a fair amount.

It really depends on which faculty one is looking for. Different universities have different strength. I’ve yet to discover one university that absolutely excels in every subject. For computer science Waterloo is definitely one of the best.

Waterloo is considered one of the best schools in the world for Mathematics, Statistics and Comp Sci. University of Toronto is good too, but for Comp Sci related stuff, Waterloo is the best.
There is no such thing as Canadian Ivy league etc ..... it is all loosely made up and irrelevant ....

Unless you are in a TOP program and people know about your field, there is very little prestige associated with a specific Canadian university. For example, if you are doing medicine at Univ of Toronto or Software engineering at Waterloo - you will be considered smart and will be sought-after in the market. However, a Biology student at Univ of Toronto is considered no smarter than a York Univ student - this is probably because almost all Canadian universities have a fairly equal quality of education. Disparities like Harvard (high end) vs SUNY Buffalo (low end) do not exist in Canada.

Overall, University of Toronto, McGill University, and University of British Columbia are considered as the Top 3.

ummm, don't necesarily agree with you. There are universities which people consider good and those "not that good".

UofT, McGill definitely hold more prestige than say York and Concordia, and that's because in general the former two ARE better and harder to get into.

If you mean there is no prestige in the sense of elitism or high status like that with Princeton/Harvard/Yale, then I agree with you, because we don't have such world renouned universities like those.

Good, but not at the level of UofT, or McGill (or Waterloo for tech). At the level of UBC, in being an excellent school but just short of best in the country level.
