i guess that means a lot of postal workers are going to be out of a job,and i guess it will force me into renting a postal box to receive my mail. i'm not liking the plan.

Yep. Not happy about this at all. I like getting my mail at home. I don't do online banking or anything like that.

I also prefer getting my bills through the mail as then i have a piece of paper reminding me to pay it rather than an email reminding me to pay it,

You still will

2/3rd's of Canadians do not get home delivery anyway.

Anyone living in a home built after about 1985 gets their mail delivered to a "superbox"
at the end of their street.

The change is now everyone will receive their mail at a "superbox".
There is even some advantages, as mail is more secure.

I like it.
Saves the cost for the mailmen to deliver door to door to those sparsely located suburban houses 100 meters away from each other, which means highrise apartment dwellers are subsidizing them.

I live in a higrise and get my mail delivered to my door. So we not subsidizing them. It the other way around since most suburbs ( especially the newer ones) already have superboxes, it's mostly the older inner city neighbourhoods that still gets door to door.

good to hear.
Door to door mail delivery is really not necessary. Most of the mails nowaways are junk mails anyway.

Great. Now I have to get dressed, put on boots, a hat, a coat, gloves and a scarf to get my mail.
