Nice find BB ,.Lots of interesting reading however under each topic title it mentions many
comments related to the subject matter, i cant seem to find those comments..
Do you have an example of his bilingual doubletalk?
Not really. That's why I said "accused".
Some people said that during the Meech Lake constitutional talks, that he'd say the new clause that would declare Quebec a "distinct society" meant nothing in English, and that in French he'd say it was a very significant gain for Quebec.
But I've never really seen or heard evidence of this.
I forgot about that one. It's a good though it's inactive but not old enough so that the issues aren't still relevant. The comments are as interesting as the posts and have good exchanges BTW.
The title of the thread may sound awkward, but I am looking for sources in which French Canadians are expressing their opinions about Quebec politics and society in English. It seems that the overwhelming majority of people who post comments about Quebec on the Canadian newspapers' websites are Anglophones. For example, I would like to read an English-language article by a French Canadian who supports the goals of the PQ.
I have to say I agree as most of the quebec bashing is because of what people read in the media in the English newspapers.
I see a massive difference between what happens in the political world and what the French Quebecers actually say in day to day life. I should add that's Montrealers who IMO are far more liberal than the political parties might be.
So, the question remains, just who the hell is voting for the PQ if none of the French people I know agree with the PQ?!

I guess many are saying one thing and doing the opposite when it comes to casting a ballot.
I remember when the last referendum on separation narrowly got voted down many of my francophone co-workers gave me a hard time saying the reason the referendum didnt pass was because Anglos and ethnics got in the way,the fact that the Anglo and ethnic demographic makes up only 18% of Quebecs population was somehow lost on them, it was the fault of those dastardly Maudit Anglais and Les Autres who were responsible for their failed attempt at nationhood and not the additional 30% francophones who voted to remain in Canada.

I live in Quebec but in a more rural area well outside Montreal.
I would say everyone on my street voted PQ (except me I guess) and they consider Montreal to be another planet...
