I don't get why you're so upset about having a different accent from Americans.
Assumption is we're upset about having a distinctive accent when we are actually only upset at being derided for it.

Ever listened to someone from New Jawzie try to give you directions to Fenway Park; "you get off at Pawk".

Ho-hum. I lived in Canada for 20+ years and never waited for treatment--not even once.

What province/city did you live in when you waited? Although some people might mistake your definitive, all-encompassing proclamation as a result of arrogant ignorance, I trust you simply speaking with the confidence of someone who has personally experienced the system firsthand.

Actually, how much exactly does it cost per month to live in, say, Lethbridge versus Thunder Bay? Do you have some exact figures, including median salaries, COL, RRSP contributions, tax credits, the whole package?

OP: City Data is not all that representative of the myriad of American attitudes about Canada. Accents aside, I've found that you can always find the Canadians in the room by asking people to pronounce "process."

We do not say "soary" or "agayn" either.
I do.

I was only kidding, I wasn't actually serious. In reality I'd just give them a dirty look.

(But yes we do get basic mental care for free or a reasonable price)

Witch!!! Witch!!!! You said CANADIAN ACCENT!!!!!!! And here with all your claims, you had me thinking there wasn't one. Okay, not really. I mean, I can hear, you know.

It is nonsense to claim there is no Canadian accent. All you have to do is listen to most any Canadian talk, and you can hear it. Of course it's stronger in some than in others. But to claim it doesn't exist is ridiculous.

Americans Filching Free Health Care in Canada - NYTimes.com

Your system is so superior you gotta steal from ours? Think what we could have done with the $691 million you nice people have been stealing per year.

Your own politicians head south to avoid waiting lines.

As for Americans trying to get help in Canada what do you expect? When you try to have a socialist country you will attract the want to be socialists out of the woodwork.

My comment was directed to the OP specially, and not to Canadians in General.

The OP stated in another thread, that he wants to have an American accent and wouldn't want to sound Canadian. Obviously, the OP have some issues.

Why do Americans bug people so much? seriously.... on every non American section on this website you can find so many threads full of people just complaining and complaining and complaining about Americans...

Think alot of people better start visiting non-American websites more often if they can't handle interacting with Americans without throwing a hissy fit.

SO according to Maxie and several other posters from Ontario they sound like people from Michigan? You claim you don't sound like other Candians, New Englanders or people from mid Atlantic states, so I guess this is how people in Ontario talk, like people in Detroit. Detroit is on the Border right? LOL
