Think alot of people better start visiting non-American websites more often if they can't handle interacting with Americans without throwing a hissy fit.

I read the CBC website once in a while. Any story that even mentions the US is full of left wing Canadian hateful comments towards the US.

First off it's "she" and no I did not exactly mean I wanted to adopt an American accent because I'm somehow ashamed of my own accent. I was trying to get across that my accent, as how I perceive it, sounds pretty American. I actually prefer the general American accent above all other accents in north America.

I never claimed to sound anything like a person from Michigan. The whites alone there have a very "naaaaasal" sounding accent that's foreign to me ("Baaattle of paaaap") and I certainly don't speak Ebonics. So Hell no!!!!

People notice thing and in everyday conversation would say "Ah, you're Canadian, huh?" Most people would think it is friendly chatter. Not an insult. Why do you think being recognized as Canadian is the same as being insulted?

I wouldn't point it out because it embarrasses some people.

'Danny Millions' Williams heads south for heart surgery | Toronto Star

Your own politicians head south to avoid waiting lines.

As for Americans trying to get help in Canada what do you expect? When you try to have a socialist country you will attract the want to be socialists out of the woodwork.
Socialist requires the hospitals to be run by the government and the doctors to be employed by the state; they're not. Know whereof you speak before doing more damage to your leotards.

Debunking Canadian health care myths - The Denver Post

Danny Williams had a surgery performed in a hospital in Miami so he could recuperate in a condo he owned in Miami.

Williams's heart surgery choice was based on ignorance - The Globe and Mail

Now here's the deal on Medical tourism and this will rot your leotards from the crotch down.

Medical tourism: Why more Americans are going abroad for surgery to save money | Mail Online

Medical tourism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Less than one half of one percent of Canadians get medical treatment in the U.S. and care to guess what proportion of those are already down there as either tourists or snowbirds enjoying your golf courses and happen to take ill while there?

Now compare that to 750,000 of your citizens flying anywhere they can (Thailand, India, Costa Rica for heaven's sake) and what does that say for your stellar system?

Sigh... Americans will always pretend they have the best health care in the world regardless of articles like this. They are in the deepest darkest level of denial over their health care situation it's just sad. No one should be forced to go into debt over a medical crisis.

I tried to explain how general Canadian barely differs from West coast or central American and every reply I got was like "No Canuck! you do have an accent, you say aboot" - seriously? the level of ignorance Americans have towards how we sounds is appalling.

The other threads where they bash our healthcare and call it "inferior" really irritates me as well. Do they get all their information about Canadians from Fox news or something? because it's way off the mark.
Sorry for being rude, but why don't you kill yourself instead of starting another stupid thread?
