Actually the polar vortex experienced this winter could be exactly as a result of global warming and man made CO2 emissions over the last century.

Not to mention a demonstrable correlation between recent man made CO2 emissions and rise in ocean acidification. Sure there are historical cycles but never before has any creature on this earth been able to toy with the natural balance like we have in so short a period of time!

So, your evidence that global warming is not happening is... the Vikings. OK. Were you able to add that plausible explanation to the IPCC report?

I always like how people like to give 'global warming' the blame for the recent harsh winters. It really helps the credibility of the global warming conspiracies.

Other than that, I understand now the OP has touched a very sensitive subject here: Canada and its climate. Canada and its inhabitants, having been traded by the French(of all people) for Guadeloupe because of its cold climate, take this matter very seriously as much of their history has been determined by (the harshness of) its climate.

Otherwise, I am sure Canadians all hope for a little global warming so Canada will perhaps look like California or Florida in a few years.

.
Somehow I doubt that if the Treaty of Paris of 1763 had gone differently that all 35 million people living in Canada at the moment would instead be in tropical Guadeloupe and Martinique today.

Some people say the Dutch have no sense of humour - others say they do - only it is a peculiar one.

Well, if global warming persists you will all be living in a place like tropical Guadeloupe or Martinique any time soon.

There could also be intelligent alien life in our galaxy. Keyword: could

Actually, the "polar vortex" was caused by storm activity north of Australia that buckled the jet stream in such a way that it was sent way up north to Alaska, then came crashing back down the Rockies, bringing Arctic air with it. Nothing to do with climate change

The "ecology" will do just fine. It does not have a value system. Latest research into ecological changes seems to indicate it is much more violent than the old textbooks with their balance of nature nonsense.

The ecological change predicted by global warming is much less than what happened in California from 1870 to 1970. Most people never noticed and it 1970 thought it was all "natural". Well, natural...but not the same ecosystems that were there in 1870. Forested regions changed the least.

CIA reports indicate a net positive to human populations due to global warming.

Myself, I like boreal forests. I like ecosystems that are not trashed with invasive species. But from a professional perspective it will be fun watching the ecosystems change and develop.

The earth has steadily warmed in the last 100 years and the level of acidification in the oceans have also risen in parallel.. People can dismiss global warming and the impact that man has had on it all they want and dismiss it as conspiracy theory - not sure where you are on that side of the fence - but for me, i'm not going to dismiss the conclusions of the majority of Scientists who are experts on the matter who do connect an unhealthy rise in overall temperatures on the earth to our activities over the last century...

If they are right than you better hope there IS intelligent life in our galaxy (given the number of stars and planets surrounding stars located in the goldilocks zone - i'd say there is a good chance), that they will come and rescue us from our ignorance and destructive ways!
