Look at Section 7.4 and 7.5 of this publication:

Also look at this:
Changes to citizenship rules as of April 2009
It looks like you are ok. I'm relying on the following provision:
Persons born outside Canada between February 15, 1977 and April 16, 2009: Prior to
Bill C-37, a person born outside Canada on or after February 15, 1977 to a Canadian mother or
father was automatically a Canadian citizen regardless of whether they were of the first or
subsequent generation born outside Canada. However, a person of the second or subsequent
generation born outside Canada to a Canadian parent was required to apply to retain their
Canadian citizenship before attaining the age of 28. Failure to do so resulted in the loss of
citizenship (section 8 of the 1977 Act, now repealed). Persons of the second or subsequent
generation born outside Canada who turn 28 on or after April 17, 2009 (when Bill C-37 came into
force) are no longer required to retain citizenship (a retention application is not required). Bill C-37
does not restore citizenship to those who lost it under section 8 of the 1977 Act prior to the
coming into force of Bill C-37.
I would also review this publication:
Application for Canadian Citizenship - Adopted person
Canada may require a DNA test. Retention of citizenshp for person's turning age 28 after April 17, 2009 is not required. If in doubt, however, apply or attempt to acquire a Canadian passport.
