In a recording of a conference call to franchisees, CEO John Betts rails against CBC stories
You really gotta like a guy with enough juevos to say it like it is!

Background; reports have circulated that Mickey D's is hiring foreign workers over Canadians, something to do with Canada's Temporary Foreign Workers Program. Anyhow, if you're interesting, the full story is @ McDonald's Canada CEO calls foreign worker controversy 'bull****' - Canada - CBC News

And this says that Ottawa has suspended the program @ Temporary Foreign Worker Program for fast-food sector suspended by Ottawa - British Columbia - CBC News

Well;; he goes on and on about how it's all bullcr*p but interspersed throughout his diatribe are references to the fact they've got to clean up their act.

There seems to be growing evidence that McD's has "over-employed" temps so as to cut hours of perm's to the bone so they do not qualify for bennies or Labour Code Protections awarded workers of so many hours per week.

They're raping the system if they use EXTRA temps so as to REDUCE permanents and their entitlements.

Using third party scammers to entice workers from foreign countries with promised of housing etc., knowing how these third party outfits are fraudulently obtaining these workers to then deny knowledge of their practice when it becomes public is a spurious behaviour on his part.

He and his franchise holders using third party 'obtainers' have been bringing in people from wherever to fill available positions 'in lieu of' attempting to hire citizens and that is an egregious and flagrant abuse of the TFW provision.

He is bringing nothing but shame to the brand with his bullcr*p denials.

Always fun to see somebody call the whole thing BS and take blame at the same time.

Just like politicians, these guys are so out of touch they don't even notice their ridiculousness. Either that or they just don't give a **** about making sense when they open their mouths.
