Yeah Drummondville Quebec, looks like Drummondville had several newspapers way back when.
Quebec - Historical Canadian Newspapers Online - LibGuides at Bowling Green State University

I don't believe Drummondville has an English-language newspaper.

Here is the list of weeklies that publish that publish in English in Quebec:

Member newspapers QCNA - Quebec Community Newspaper Association

Add to this the dailies which are the Montreal Gazette and the Sherbrooke Record.

In the weeklies you have quite possibly the best-named newspaper in the world: The Low Down to Hull and Back.

(Low and Hull are the town and city located at both ends of its coverage zone.)

In the bad old days, was it likely that a majority-Francophone town would have only an English-language newspaper?

There may have been cases where the English-language local paper had more resources and was a posher product, but generally French Canadians have been pretty good at embracing all forms of media that have emerged over the years and serving their own people in their language with them.

Francophones here have net let English-language products "occupy the territory" and were always quick out of the gate to adopt new technologies and trends immediately, from radio, TV and cinema to the Internet.
