Many Canadians love outdoors activities; many do not. I met more "outdoorsy"
types of people in Washington state than I ever did when I lived Edmonton.
You'll certainly find more Canadians engaged in winter sports than you do in,
say, the south or midwestern states. (To this day, I find it strange that most
Americans I know can't skate or ski.) The vast majority of Canadians are
urban/suburban-dwellers. I lived in Canada for 25 years and went to exactly ONE
bonfire
In Quebec, everyone has, or knows someone who has a summer dacha in the country.
I have one. Bonfires are de rigueur. I've been to hundreds if not more. Same for fishing, kayaking and canoeing.
Forgive me if I give you the impression that I'm making Canada sound like a perfect place. I'm not. There are pros and cons to everything, but my point was is that I feel like there more pros then cons.
America has its good cities, states, people. It's not the worst country, and Canada isn't the best. There are a lot of evil people there too, I'm sure. But are news headlines about animal abuse and police brutalities common in your country? Yes all those things happen in Canada but they happen in much greater numbers over here. And I'm aware USA has a higher population, however the amount of violence that goes on here is scary. Not only do we have to worry about regular criminals, we also have to fear the police is well.
As I said before, I am not rushing to become an Canadian Citizens. If I visit and end up not liking it, that's too bad. But at least I tried.
Casserole dishes might appear on your front porch the next day as your fridge might not be stocked yet
Yes, and the pigs will fly, with a turbo portable rocket attached.
How can you invent such things? I've been living in both Quebec and Ontario (owning also a house in Ontario) and never encountered such great hospitality as you proudly describe it.
On contrary, I've seen such thing, here in US / Midwest / Colorado....

I brought a meal for my new neighbours who were moving in. Maybe you were just not looking hard enough.
