Hi, I'm from California and was just hearing about this on the radio.
We had a similar situation last year with Christopher Dorner going after police.
It was very tense in Southern California for about a week.
My heart goes out to you, and hopefully, this person will be caught as soon as possible!
Me, especially since I have a brother and SIL in the RCMP (not in Moncton). My brother was in the first graduating class after the shootings of the four RCMP constables in Alberta, so the ceremonies all had a sombre note and all the families had many concerns and questions. It wasn't quite as happy an occasion as it would have been without that darkening the event. :-(
^^They were asking people not to post on social media about it so I suspect it was taken down. They were concerned about the guy knowing where they (the police) were.
In better news, one of the officers was released from the hospital.
Sad news, even here in the US large scale shootings of LEOs like this are quite rare ... and I imagine even less common in Canada.
I saw a report that he was specifically targeting LEOs and purposely went out of his way to avoid harming civilians, he even talked to local residents before the ambush
Hopefully he is captured or terminated shortly and this nightmare can be over for the local residents and the LE community.
