Find it interesting that US companies raise $130 billion/year in VC, while Canadian companies only raise $4 billion. No top tier investor or entrepreneur stays up there. There isn't a Canadian Tesla, Apple, Google, Facebook, or Genentech, and there isn't about to be.

I can't imagine living in Canada given how low wages are there. $45,000 per capita GDP? 1/3rd lower than the U.S? Even with all the oil money? wtf?
I know quite a few Canadian natives in the tech industry here, and to a person none will move to work in Toronto or Vancouver due to the low wages.

But there's no way the American cult members would break faith with the cult and move to Canada because there is nothing there for them, no encouragement. The American cultists would become misfits, like displaced or disowned persons, DP's who can't accommodate themselves to Canadian values so they'd either shrivel up and die or they'd have to move back to where they came from.
The Americans who do move to Canada and enjoy it are never members of the American cult of Mammon, they move to Canada to escape from American Mammonism.

Isn't it kind of obvious? The U.S. has higher salaries for professionals, and more opportunities for professional advancement.
If you have a choice between being a, say, doctor, lawyer, or corporate exec in U.S. and Canada, all things equal, you're probably gonna choose the U.S., because salaries/opportunities are much greater in U.S.
My brother is actually marrying a Toronto-residing medical resident, and they're gonna live in Metro Detroit, for obvious reasons. She'll make twice as much in U.S. Add in lower taxes, much cheaper housing and better medical care, and it isn't close. Their kids can go to University of Michigan, which is probably better than any school in Canada. They can move to the Sunbelt and have warm weather, which isn't available in Canada. They can move to NYC or LA, and live in cosmopolitan megacities which aren't available in Canada.
Canada is better for people who want a safety net, but U.S. is better for people who want advancement (speaking very generally). Both countries have their positive and negatives, of course, but opportunities for professionals aren't remotely similar.

No my dear, that's your interpretation, not mine. You must be feeling guilty about it if that's the conclusion you come to. I never implied that it's evil, just said it's a cult. It's just another type of addictive religion and very few if any addicted religionists or cultists ever consider themselves to be evil nor have the intent to be seen as being evil. They all just have different values and the addiction to money is what gets Mammonites' serotonin levels kicked up into high gear and gets them high.
