I found an old song for a friend on youtube and at the beginning it plays a radio spot mentioning the station is CKOW . the C indicates to me it's canadian. I tried looking for info on it and can't find any so I'm assuming it's an old call sign. Anyone familiar with it?
1928
Nesles Foods took over the frequency vacated by CJYC operated by the International Bible Students and opened CKOW on 1030 kHz with 500 watts power.
1929
The station moved to 840 kHz before closing down later in the year.
Sorry for my delay in responding. I also sent you a private message.
I'm pretty sure you mean CKLW in Windsor, Ontario, AM-800. It has a powerful 50,000 watt signal that reaches, at night, most of Eastern North America. I remember it in the 1960s as a rock and pop-music station. But according to CKLW's website, it now has a talk-radio format.
