I don't think so, except you see the same posters who are overly negative about Canada and those who have an overly utopian image of the place. I guess like any other forum but the Canada forum does seem more of a *yawn* than even the other World forums.
^^ HEY, don1945! Canuck only has ONE "N" in it, buddy!
We have one too:
What's the difference between American beer, and sex in a canoe?
Both are [bleep!] close to water.
But to answer the OP, I really don't see unfair bashing. Yeah sure, when topics of healthcare, or gun control come up, then we're a bunch of socialist, commie bastards who can only afford healthcare because we're being protected by America.
But even those people represent a small percent of Americans, and are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Americans. And we should know, because we're obsessed with them according to some posters. lol
So it's really irrelevant what the opinion is of that bottom 2%.
And like jambo said, in the Canada forum we have a few repeat trolls. Meh.
America get's it WAY worse than we do on here. That's for sure.

Reason: Language.

Both are ****ing close to water.
that's hilarious!!
yes, this is indeed true, but there has been a very strong micro-brew movement throughout the country over the last 20 years thus resulting in some very fine beers. I've mostly made the switch to wine over the years, but our breweries are doing rather well. Though I could see how one might think that all we drink is Coors Light, or Bud (which is mostly true in the Southern part of the country) based on the ridiculous amount of advertising they're able to afford. I encourage you to visit a local brewery when/if in the states.
btw, I'll never understand the Canada bashing?? I LOVED my visits to Montreal and Toronto, and would live in MTL if it were possible.
Haha, I love the one about the beer ! Yep, you Canadians really know good beer. In fact, Homeland Security has strung a line of these traps along the border to catch you "illegals" when you try to enter the States !
BTW, nice to see people who can laugh at themselves........it is becoming a lost trait.
Canada has its pros and its cons, but here there are too many people who are overly rosy about Canada and post these ridiculous "studies" on happiest countries, least racist countries, quality of life, and other rubbish. The pattern is that these people tend to have never actually lived in any country outside of Canada. It is easy to buy this stuff when it's all you know. I get it, because I used to be one of them. I like posters like boticelli and saturno_v who have lived in several countries and are willing to talk honestly instead of taking the defensive "Canada is utopia" position.
If we dare talk about how poverty exists in Canada...or say that it is in fact not free of racism...or talk about the ass-end climate...or point out that Canada is more expensive than the US.. then there is always someone who will call this "bashing".

Sorry, but didnt you recently make a thread called "Not Rich AND White? Not Welcome In Canada"...? That has to be one of the more clear cut bashing cases.
The only thing I do see in common with a lot of the Canadian visitors we get here in Florida is that they are very (make that VERY) careful with their money. There is an old joke that goes, "What is the difference between a Cannuck and a Canoe ? The canoe will tip once in a while !"
But it just could be the difference in the way business is conducted there vs here. We have friends in the UK, and they were surprised to learn they were expected to leave money on the table when done eating at a restaurant here when visiting.
Don
There's an explanation for that business with not tipping much. In Canada all servers get a salary of minimum wage or more, plus tips. Minimum wage in Canada is much higher than it is in Florida so although tips are nice, they are not something that Canadian servers depend on. What most Canadian visitors don't know is that in Florida servers do rely very much on tips since they get less than minimum wage in Florida.
To give you an example, right now minimum wage in Florida is $7.93 an hour and effective January 2015 Florida will be increasing minimum wage to $8.05 an hour (which is still far less than minimum wage in Canada) but all tipped workers in Florida will only get $5.03 per hour.
Nobody can reasonably get by on such measly pay so tipped workers in the States really are truly dependent on getting big tips if they want to survive at that kind of work. Canadian visitors don't know that though so they tip in Florida the same way they tip in Canada, which is generally a tip of around 15 to 20% of the bill for the meal.

Re: the bolded part - those kinds of posts rarely if ever get posted in the Canada forum and if they do they are usually posted by foreigners bringing it to the Canada forum. I can't remember when was the last time anything like that was posted in the Canada forum. They mostly get posted on a frequent basis in the World forum and not by Canadians, they get posted by people who live in other countries and have usually never been to Canada. So please be honest and don't try to lay that trip on the Canada forum and Canadians, take it to the World forum and people from other countries.
