I wanted to know specially from non-Québec francophones. Will you move into Québec to join the birth of a country? What about anglo Québecers will you leave or stay in Québec? Is it possible new business will invest?

For me I will stay and celebrate the achievement. I expect to see many new faces coming to Québec if we have independance. Specially from francohpone countries in Africa and Europeans leaving the great problems there.

Merci!

I'd immediately book a flight up there. Seeing something like that is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I would be very sad but if it had to happen I'd go visit there and take a look at the new currency and see what the new country is like.

I will be in the street in tears celebrating freedom. After 250 years what else can I do?

I would actually move out of Canada if this happened. It wouldn't feel like home anymore if it broke up.

Most of my friends and relatives would probably move. If this ever happens I would like to see the government promote more tourism to the Maritime provinces. Since I would have to travel through another country to get to the Maritimes, I would choose to travel through upsate New York and New England. The scenery is really nice and its actually faster to drive through New England than going all the way up over Maine.

I have the impression that the separatists posting here are primarily young folks. The odds of separating are astronomically small. That dream is dead. Move on.

But on the chance it does happen, it won't mean a thing to this American.

If Quebec separated, they wouldn't get all the land as most of it belongs to the Natives. So you would still be able to get to the other side of Canada without going through another country. Canada would just need to negotiate with the Natives to build a highway through their land that will be the new Highway 1 and you won't need to worry about crossing another country to get to the maritimes.
