Federal election 2015: Stephen Harper to launch campaign as early as Sunday - Politics - CBC News

If true, then the campaign will be far too long for most voters' tastes...

Most campaigns in the past were able to get everyone's points across through 37 days of campaigning; 11 weeks is just too much!

Time for politicians to start talking about "middle class", "families" and "jobs" again and giving empty promises they have no intention to fulfill.

We pretend we have a choice every few years, but in reality we don't.

Yeah but we have the option to flip on CNN and get 24/7 non-stop coverage of Donald Trump if we get bored with our politicians

Oh geez, I'd rather just leave the television turned off in that case.

Just to clarify, I'm not pushing Justin Trudeau either. I just meant that already every 15 minutes there's a Conservative party sponsored ad playing that ends with "He's just not ready." The dialogue leading up to that punchline is cringeworthy.

Well to be fair, the ads did say that "we are not saying never, just not now"...

Oh yeah I loved that part. "Okay, to be fair, our ad looks a bit cheap. Let's try to win over the skeptics by making ourselves sound balanced with this extra bit."

Well, hats off to the Prime Minister's campaign organizational capabilities. Regardless of his politics, I have to say that he does run a strategically targeted and efficient campaign with lots of monetary resources at disposable. Almost every media channel has been inundated with Conservative ads for the last 3 months. Recently, even my local classical music station started to host conservative attack ads... rather poor taste right after Beethoven's No. 9 Ode to Joy.

me too. And the fact Harper "only cares about big corporations".

Repeat the same messenger 1,000 times and voters start to believe. That's how it works.
