Their fertility rate will still likely be under replacement, 1 child families have become the norm in cities. Anyways, I can't begrudge the people of the PRC their reproductive rights, not when the social changes necessary for natural population control are in place today (urbanization, industrialization, women's rights, education etc.). Communism was never necessary to control population growth in China, prosperity was, just look at Taiwan and South Korea! Even Thailand is below replacement. The world will not end just because the Han Chinese are now allowed to have 2 kids. Let's also not forget, when talking about this, that we aren't talking about numbers or statistics. These are real lives and the 1 child policy has resulted in real human suffering.
I dont think Canada could support a billion new immigrants.
And calling Chinese people a plague is a bit rude and uncalled for.
