Pets are dying trapped in houses out in Ft Mac. I am sickened to think about it.

C'mon fellow Canadians and pet lovers, PLEASE GIVE like I and my husband did.

Here is the link to donate towards rescue efforts.Welcome to The Fort McMurray SPCA

It is a very easy process with either your credit card or a bank withdrawl.

I don't think it is a priority. More human beings in the world need far more help than some dogs in Alberta.

Haar! Botti; I'll say this for you, you're consistant. You never fail to find a lower denominator.

The poster was not suggesting it was an "either - or" scenario Botti.

unfortunately for most people, it IS an either/or scenario.
Saving Chihuahuas, what a first world problem.

That's ok with thinking like you do. I respect that.

I guess you aren't a pet owner who would be devastated to think that your dog/cat/bird, etc were dying a horrible, slow death.

I just can't imagine knowing that my beloved dogs were trusting that I'd be coming back for them and couldn't.

I thought I read that the RCMP had gone door to door to recover pets which were then flown south?

Might be why being categorized as a first world nation is considered a good thing, eh?

I don't think that's a wise use of public funds. If it is donation from individuals, then I am fine with it.

Pets are not people. They don't vote and they don't pay taxes either.

You misunderstood. I was wondering why the request for donations for animals in Fort McMurray if there are no longer any animals there.
