An unexpected demand for heavy, bitumen laden crude due to it being heavily discounted and containing the stuff they need to service their rapid infrastructure building pace. I never thought to connect the two dots; energy extraction and asphalt building material in that manner.

Why is it that Canada only sees a 40% return on their investment again? Oh right. Cost of shipment, and unreliable delivery.
