Are you afraid of open carriers?? ahahaha LOL These are the last people you should be afraid of but it is a concept that you fail to understand over and over....
I never called Canada paradise...but to the average person ( middle-class ), I think in some ways it does offer more. A more equal society ( although that is under threat ). Less worry about healthcare. Less violent crime. Better public education. Cheaper post-secondary education. Cities that don't have " no go zones ".

As for open carry. I think it is you that doesn't understand it. It is not the fear of people with open carry, but the fact that people feel the NEED to open carry that is the issue. I don't want my country EVER to go down that road.

Mussolini was originally a socialist and director of the Italian Socialist party major newspaper in Italy....Nazism was born as "National Socialism"...Stalin, Pol Pot.....all well intentioned leaders doing the best "for the good of the people"....

It's the common thread among left leaning people. They know what is better for me and if I don't agree their vision, I am an ignorant flat earther. It really is about control vs freedom.

....for the average middle class, the US is an as equal society as Canada, no difference whatsoever, yes we have many more ultra rich billionaires so "technically" there is more inequality.

Healthcare, for the middle class, is less of a problem than it was before and Obamacare is not going away, mark my words, I bet Trump eventually will push for a public option...he is a big spender if you believe some of his promises.

Violent crime and no go zones (they go hand in hand)...yes a problem but it does not affect your average middle class person...sure we should eliminate them.

In terms of economic advancement and opportunities for the motivated the US is better than Canada by a long shot

This is what you do not understand as we discussed before..the difference between a need and be free to do something if I want to as long as it does not effects others....the very basic of freedom

You do not need a 200 mph Ferrari.....

Reagan actually increased taxes....

Trump is not a hardcore GOP.....
OMG, I hate the fact that I have to link you with The View...seriously sorry... BUT go to 6:30 in the clip. Kellyanne Conway says exactly what he plans to replace the ACA with. Free market healthcare insurance.
Wasn't working so well before the ACA and whatever you think about ACA, this is not a solution.

"I am scared that if Ronald Reagan gets into office, we are going to see more of the Ku Klux Klan and a resurgence of the Nazi Party,” Coretta Scott King said in November, 1980."

"He’s a “nitwit,” added a Democrat. “He’s shallow, superficial and frightening,” one of that year’s historic numbers of “undecideds” insisted."

"Ronald Reagan “seems not to relish complexity and subtlety,” the New York Times editorial endorsing President Jimmy Carter’s re-election proclaimed. “The problem is not a loose lip but the simple answer.” While fearing what Reagan’s own running mate, George H.W. Bush, had dismissed as Reagan’s “voodoo economics” during their primary fight, the editorial board feared “voodoo diplomacy,” too."

"From coast to coast, half of a divided nation abhorred — and underestimated — the president-elect. “The American people,“ Hamilton Jordan, a key Carter aide, said, "are not going to elect a 70-year-old, right-wing, ex-movie actor to be president.”

Granted, I'm not saying that Reagan was the best president, far from and I did not voted for Trump....however Reagan, for better or for worse, did shape an entire generation and changed the world
Um, Reagan was a puppet. A frontman. He read the script and moved on. His trickle down economics were the beginning of the huge inequality that exists today.

People had a right to be concerned.

What were their weapons of choice? Nationalism and identifying lesser others as the problem. They turned that " Socialism " into " Fascism ". Right wing ideology.

Now I'm not saying I support socialism, I support what the Scandinavian countries have, what Canada has, which is more of a democratic - socialism.

Whichever way these dictatators would of gone, it was and would be extreme. Both extreme left and right are cancers.

No it's about education and knowledge. Your statements, as mine, stand on their own and others will judge us both. History will be the final judge, and history has taught us many things. Some which seem lost on you.

You even thought Fascism was a left wing ideology when you lumped Hitler into the mix. That alone, makes me take what you have to say with a grain of salt.
