Has anyone been able to cross into Canada from the US with a felony on their record. I see that in order to cross you need to apply for a TRP or for Rehabilitation but could take a minimum of 6 months for it to go through. Do they really turn people around at the boarder? I'm from Buffalo and I don't ever remember it being difficult crossing before the felony.

Yes they really do turn people away at the border and if I remember correctly you cannot have any type of criminal conviction.

Check the facts here:

Note:
Felons who have been released from prison and are on probation are restricted from traveling anywhere outside of the federal district in which they live without permission from their probation officer.
Having a felony arrest on their record can prevent legal entry. Documents must be obtained proving that there was no conviction. Even when going through Canada to visit friends in Alaska.
Make sure to read above links and have all required documents.

And just because I'm feeling like Captain Pedantic today, a boarder is a renter that you feed, and a border is an international boundary.

I crossed a boarder once, but then we became friends.

If you think about it Americans with any drunk driving record are turned away since that is a felony here so I wouldn't count on it.
